High Precision Monitoring facilitates the identification of any movement or deformation in a building, structure or landscape environment.  Utilising precise survey instrumentation, digital levels and movement detectors, the process measures and tracks the smallest of alterations in terrain conditions. Establishing monitoring strategies allows the recording of how materials used in construction actually settle and adapt in their environment and whether potential stresses on a structure are affected by vertical, level or horizontal movement in the ground.

An example of our High Precision Monitoring work can be viewed below. We have been advising a client from near Papworth in Cambridgeshire on structural damage to their large agricultural grain store.  The concrete slab and perimeter ring-beam has been cracking and is thought to be associated with excessive horizontal deflections in the columns rotating about the foundation.  The store holds up to 6.5m height of grain, and although it's possible that the client has been overloading which has contributed to the issue, other factors in the environment could equally be causing problems. Monitoring is on-going through the harvest season to determine what remedies are required.
