Tom Holder

Tom is Senior Engineer and founder of Target Site Engineering & Surveys Ltd. He formed the company in 2011 after ten years of site experience on major infrastructure projects and traditional builds.

Tom's career started with J Breheny Contractors in 2002 where he was to gain valuable practical experience out in the field. During the five years he was with Breheny's, Tom completed an ONC and then an HND in Civil Engineering at West Suffolk College.

In 2007, Tom moved to Birse Civils Southern (a Balfour Beatty company) as section engineer,

whilst also embarking on a four year part-time course at Anglia Ruskin University. He went on to gain a First Class Honours Batchelor of Science degree, completing a dissertation on GPS Virtual Reference System and Site Control.

In the Autumn of 2010, Tom joined a growing East Anglian company, BB Surveys, to strengthen his surveying skills, before forming his very own company Target Site Engineering & Surveys Ltd in May 2011.

Since starting Target SES, Tom has worked on various large projects including highways improvements on the A14 between Haughley and Stowmarket, and was senior engineer on the Stowmarket Relief Road build. He was involved with first stage earthworks at London Gateway Park for DP World and pavement construction at Felixstowe port. He has set out roof gardens at Liverpool Street in London and Principle Place in Shoreditch, as well as an award-winning garden at the 2017 RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Other major setting-out projects include the brand new Ford showrooms at Gates of Harlow and construction of the new Trumpington Community College in Cambridge.

Tom is married with a one-year old daughter, and lives near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. The family have two dogs, a lurcher called Rufus and Teddy a young black labrador. There's also a menagerie of chickens and ferrets to care for! Whilst he has little spare time, Tom loves gardening, embarking on home improvements and keeping an eye on the fortunes of his beloved Tottenham Hotspurs.
